Today I found the Quora question…”What is the state of knowledge regarding Lyme Disease?”
This is an excellent question because one of our greatest challenges is finding a Lyme literate doctor who is current and on the cutting edge regarding how to treat Lyme disease.
Last week, Dr Mercola published an interview with Lyme expert, Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt MD, reitierating the current and intriguing research showing Lyme disease is not just transmitted by Ticks.
Dr. Klinghardt is convinced the increased virulence we’re now seeing with Lyme is related to the dramatic increase in electromagnetic fields and microwave radiation from cell phones, cell towers, and all manner of wireless technologies. In his standard protocol, he targets mitigating EMF and microwave radiation as any subsequent treatment of Lyme disease will not be as effective unless these external factors are addressed.
HGV attended a presentation with Ginger Savely, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), who reports alarming information about Lyme disease and why it is so hard to diagnose. She states cysts have been discovered that are associated with a dormant stage of this already elusive disease so it can remain ‘hidden’ for years, even decades, within the system until a later stressor occurs to release the Lyme spirochete and begin the invasion.

In 2004, Dr. David Williams MD wrote a paper, The New Great Impostor, discussing the presence of live Bb pathogens found in fleas, mites, and mosquitos…AND also found in the human blood, urine, vaginal secretions, semen, tears, breast milk and cord blood.
This opens up the possibility of transmitting Lyme from Mother’s to their unborn children, and some day maybe even being classified as a sexually transmitted disease!
Back in September 2011, Natural News reported Lyme Disease is the fastest growing infectious disease in the US.
Now add to these interesting facts the point that Lyme disease is often mis-diagnosed by the medical community as:

Lyme disease is notoriously difficult to diagnose using conventional tests. And there’s great variation in the presentation of the disease as well, depending on where you contracted it, and whether or not you have any other coexisting infections. There is a group of seven or eight microbes that are the most common. The worst ones are Babesia microti and the different forms of Bartonella.
Back to Dr. Klinghardt’s experience:
“… If you just do antibiotics, okay, you just do antibiotics. But if you think more holistically and do the things that I recommend, then you no longer will need to resort to antibiotics because you cover your system on so many other fronts…
