More News on Swine Flu Vaccines

A story has published in www.dailymail.co.uk on the ties between government agencies and drug companies, specifically targeting the Swine flu pandemic and raising questions on the implications for whose interests were really in mind…the public, or pharmaceutical companies that sell the H1N1 vaccines? In the UK, it has been reported that over half the scientists on the swine flu task force advising the government have ties to drug companies.

Out of the 20 members of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), eleven have done work for the pharmaceutical industry or are linked to it through their Universities. This raises the ethical question: should persons with interests in making money within any aspect of representing and influencing the laws and mandates for a country and its people be involved in the politics and decision making process? If we vote our government officials into office to represent us, the people – doesn’t this type of lobbying and information gathering process scream as a slanted agenda? Of course it does!

The article further reports that many have declared interests in GlaxoSmithKline, the vaccine maker expected to be the biggest beneficiary of the pandemic. The disclosure of the register of interests comes just days after a health expert branded the swine flu outbreak a ‘false pandemic’ driven by the drug companies which stood to profit.

Official documents show some members are linked to vaccine manufacturer Baxter and Roche, which makes Tamiflu.
GSK as well as Baxter and Roche stand to make up to £1.5billion between them from government contracts related to swine flu.

In the UK, last July, the Department of Health warned of up 65,000 deaths, with 350 a day at the pandemic’s peak. But the death toll now stands at just 251. US citizens were given false results and predictions of Swine Flu outbreaks by the CDC as well.

Now the question is…how will these drug companies off load the unused batches? In the UK there is a reported £1billion worth of unwanted swine flu vaccines. Why is the government involved in this aspect of providing ‘health’ to the people? Can we trust our government to make the right the decisions that provide wealth and health to all inhabitants? At the moment, it appears not.

Liberal Democrat Norman Lamb said: ‘While there is no evidence that experts acted improperly, the sheer scale of the pharmaceutical industry’s influence is a cause for concern and needs to be looked at.’

Let’s not just ‘look at’ it or talk about it, because this keeps us in the politics arena, we need to act on it.

An educated consumer is a powerful and high leveraging influence in today’s market place. Our government agencies are consistently listening to the money interests of big business industries like pharmaceuticals, agri-industry, bottled water companies, and fossil fuel manufacturers (to name some top guys) as we run full speed into the 21st century. This is a tainted and limited resource of knowledge for our global health and ability to sustain life, and we mean human life. It is not just the trees that need ‘huggers’ to protect them. We must educate ourselves; create or join networks of individuals in the science, medical, and renewable energy fields to provide us with alternatives that work.

We need to develop our own channels of reliable information on what is best for our individual health and survival because big business industry DOES NOT have our interests in mind. We are going to see more and more of this proof as the age of internet technology offers all of us the ability to KNOW and share from our desktops.

History has proven many times, we have the power to unify our selves and hand any government agency the Donald Trump message: Your Fired!
