On Aug 12 I wrote a post titled, “Is this rash on my leg Morgellons Again?”

I had just returned from the Madison WI area with 3 mosquito bites on my lower leg and within 24 hours began the maddening itch along the calf. Several inches away from the bite sites is an area going through a morphing of rash stages and I can definitely report today, this is just like the first time I came into contact with ‘not sure what’ that presented into Morgellons in July 2008.

At this point I had a weepy rash spreading along my shin bone as shown where it is the darkest red. I was applying a salt solution and FIR therapy which would dry it immediately but at some point the weepy discharge would come again. It was definitely still spreading.

After consulting with Trisha from espbotanicals.com and two new team members here at HGV, Bengt and Arnel from anuwater.com, I have been on their recommended protocol which is a long term strategy to correct my internal bio-terrain. By doing so, I will re-build my immune system to a whole other level that is not so easily compromised by the re-exposure from 3 friggin mosie bites!

The weeping red spot has not oozed in over a week, and it has definitely stopped spreading around toward the calf. YEAH!

Another day gone by and this is definitely drying up AND healing. There is nothing under or in the skin (if you know what I mean), it is flaking off the top at this point and I can see pink, new skin texture underneath the scabs.

The recovery strategy from Trisha, Arnel, and Bengt are braiding together a wellness philosophy based on correcting the internal bio-terrain of our physical body. We must remove the toxins, fungi, sophisticated colonies of viral and bacterial loads (bio film) and re-build from the ground up. Balanced hydration and re-mineralization are huge factors for our body’s immune system to work properly.

Last month, one of the gals on the Healing Grapevine team suggested we do a promotion for Father’s Day with skin care. My response was, are you kidding, skin care as a gift for Father’s Day?! I laughed the idea away.

Reflecting on my response today makes me wonder how much I was caught in stereotyping. The fact is men use skin care products more than ever these days.

Where as some of the sexiest men on earth, like Viggo Mortensen at 51, have this great rugged look to help create their smoldering mystique, it appears that for men to have ‘character lines’ is more acceptable…no one is balking at his skin – at least the gals here aren’t!

It was several months after using Baci Mi© Gels on myself that my husband (as well as my ex husband) noticed such a change in my face, that they actually started using it for themselves.

Deep down, all guys want to look younger if they can. I think when it comes to things like skin care, men are just more practical.

Collagen

It was brought to my attention that I posted this article without mentioning the Collagen that Dr. Staninger recommends. For those of you who have read the article check out Collagen Type I & III here.

Collagen is a group of proteins found exclusively in animals and makes up about 25% to 35% of the body’s protein content. It is the main protein that makes up our connective tissue. It provides strength and flexibility to everything from skin to tendons, ligaments, and muscle tissue; as well as to organs, cartilage, teeth, nails, hair and placenta.

Both my Mom and Grandma have this thing where the littlest bump on their arm turns into a massive bruise. The bruises are deep purple, blue, and red colors and they seemed to never go away.

It is so extreme for my Grandma that sometimes her whole arm is covered and now she will only wears long-sleeve shirts. As is the case for many elderly folks, her skin is also fragile and easily peels back if a bandaid is applied. It is very unpleasant to say the least and very common for aging skin.

About two months ago I asked Dr. Staninger about this and her answer was, “Collagen, that means she needs collagen…and vitamin C” and passed this along to my Mom.

Without diving too deep into Biology or Physiology 101, remember that every 3 months we have all new skin cells. Yesterday my Mom and I were chatting on the phone and I was right in the middle of talking about something else when she piped up and said, “That collagen stuff is really working!”

It was very funny in the moment because it came out of left field and of course, I had to ask…”oh really, what’s happening, are they all gone?
She said no, she would still get the bruises but they were healing in twice the time. They did not last for weeks like they used to.

Since the day I tried my first sample of Baci Mi© gel I was sold. At 50 years of age discovering a skin care line as pure and powerful as Dr Staninger’s proprietary products has been miraculous. Triclosan

“The Food and Drug Administration said recent research raises “valid concerns” about the possible health effects of triclosan, an antibacterial chemical found in a growing number of liquid soaps, hand sanitizers, dishwashing liquids, shaving gels and even socks, workout clothes and toys. The FDA and the Environmental Protection Agency say they are taking a fresh look at Triclosan, which is so ubiquitous that is found in the urine of 75 percent of the population, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The reassessment is the latest signal that the Obama administration is willing to reevaluate the possible health impacts of chemicals that have been in widespread use.

In a letter to a congressman that was obtained by The Washington Post, the FDA said that recent scientific studies raise questions about whether triclosan disrupts the body’s endocrine system and whether it helps to create bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. An advisory panel to the FDA said in 2005 that there was no evidence the antibacterial soaps work better than regular soap and water. The FDA was responding to inquiries from Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), who has been pushing federal regulators to take stronger action to restrict the use of triclosan and other chemicals that have been shown in laboratory tests to interfere with the delicate endocrine system, which regulates growth and development.

“The proliferation of triclosan in everyday consumer products is so enormous, it is literally in almost every type of product — most soaps, toothpaste, cosmetics, clothes and toys,” Markey said. “It’s in our drinking water, it’s in our rivers and as a result, it’s in our bodies. . . . I don’t think a lot of additional data has to be collected in order to make the simple decisions about children’s toys and soaps that people use. It clearly is something that creates a danger.”

Tribute to Asian Legends

Baci Mi© recognizes the importance of contributions that various Asian ethnological societies have contributed to the world as art, science and medicine. Many of these Asian contributors grew up in a time not as we know it now, but lived when a story teller would tell the village children of Legends with tales of adventure, romance and happy endings.

Our Asian cultural heritage is represented through Baci Mi’s© Medicinal Botanical Gels of Antiquity series called Tribute to Asian Legends Gels.

The most famous of these legends is the “Monkey King” (Hanuman). Wu Ch’eng-en (c.1500-c.1582) born in Huai’an, China bore the style Ruzhong and the pen name Heyang Hermit. He was a scholar-official and wrote one of the most renowned classical Chinese novels entitled journey to the West. It is about the allegorical rendition of the Monkey King’s journeys, mingled with Chinese fables, fairy tales. legends, superstitions, popular beliefs, monster stories as well as whatever the author could find in the Taoist and Buddhist religions.

The classical Chinese Novel “Journey to the West” by Wu Ch’eng-en has been a most popular edition for 200-300 years as “A Taoist Interpretation of Journey of the West” chiefly because it is considered to be a more mature literary work than many of the Ming Dynasty editions.

The Three Wise Monkeys legend came to us from a 17th century carving over a door of the famous Tosho-gu shrine in Nikko, Japan. Together they embody the proverbial principle to “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of “do no evil”. He may be shown covering his abdomen or crotch, or crossing his arms.
