Electrolytes And The Migraine Headache
We have had such positive feedback from one of our newsletters about an easy to make at home recipe for restoring electrolytes that we want to share it through our blog.
As the Healing Grapevine Team continues to educate ourselves on the basic physiology interactions within our body, and how important some of the lesser known factors are to recovering and maintaining our health and vitality, we marvel at the ones that are simple to correct.
An electrolyte is full of ions, which are atoms that have some sort of net electric charge, either positive or negative. The more common ions needed for the human body are sodium bicarbonate or chloride, magnesium, potassium, and calcium and they are required by cells to regulate the electric charge and flow of water molecules across the cell membrane.
It is electrolytes that make the muscles ‘fire’ and move…without them your heart would not have the electrical power to pump your blood.
Many of our readers primarily drink a distilled water during their detox protocol but remember the other side of that equation is to rebuild. Try this recipe instead of one of the popular store brands that are loaded with poor quality sugars, artificial colors and flavors.
1 liter water
2 tablespoon sweetener (honey)
1/2 tsp salt (non-iodized sea salt is best)
1/2 tsp baking soda (Red Mill brand non-aluminum)
Toni recommends heating just a little of the water to dissolve the ingredients easier, then add it to the rest of the liter. Fill a water bottle and drink throughout the day. If you prefer another sweetener feel free to substitute…the key to this recipe lies in the sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate ingredients.
For those that suffer from migraines, this may just be your next new best friend for alleviating and preventing! Nasty headaches are a common symptom for both the Morgellons and Lyme afflicted communities. We hope this works for you too.
Have a fabulous day,
